Weekly Announcements
Happy 2009! We hope the new year brings you happiness and many blessings. Before listing the events for the coming week, the following two events occur later this month but need a head count by Friday, January 9th.
1.) Friday, January 16th: The YAM is invited to celebrate the Ukrainian New Years at Liesl's home beginning at 7:00 pm. Please RSVP to allstyam@gmail.com as soon as possible so things may be prepared accordingly.
2.) Thursday, January 22nd: The YAM is invited to attend the March for Life Rally in Washington, D.C. All Young Adults are asked to meet at the East side of the Washington Monument (15th Street & National Mall) at 11:50 am. If enough Young Adults are interested in attending, we can coordinate rides. Please RSVP to allstyam@gmail.com as soon as possible.
YAM EVENTS:
Monday, January 5th: On you way back from work? Feel like praying the Rosary? Join the YAM each Monday at 6:30 pm for our weekly Rush Hour Rosary in the All Saints Chapel. For more information, contact Gina at Ginagarman@gmail.com. Don't forget the NEW TIME!!! Also, following the Rush Hour Rosary, Karla (a fellow YAM member) would like to invite everyone to celebrate the Epiphany as it is done in Mexico with a gathering, piece of "cake," and hot cocoa. Wednesday, January 7th: Join us for Bible study! We meet from 7:15 - 8:15 pm in the Junior Library of All Saints school. Come discuss the Sunday readings, share prayer intentions, and socialize with other young adults. Contact Jacqui at 571-236-9934 if you have trouble finding us. Don't forget the NEW TIME & PLACE!!!
Sunday, January 11th: The YAM will attend the 5:30 pm mass (sitting towards the front on the right) at All Saints Church followed by dinner at a local restaurant and Holy Hour. Everyone will meet after Mass at the Mary statue in front of the church at 6:45 pm to coordinate rides for the dinner. Around 8:45 pm, the YAM will return to All Saints for Hour Hour from 9:00 - 10:00 pm. This is a great way to pray with and meet members of YAM. All are invited to attend! OTHER EVENTS IN THE AREA:
Monday, January 5th: Theology on Tap resumes with Fr. Scalia speaking about "The True Catholic Teaching on Homosexuality." The talk begins at 7:00 pm at Pat Troy's Ireland's Own in Old Town Alexandria (111 North Pitt Street). You must be 21 to attend - - Please bring an ID.
Thursday, January 8th: Join Holy Trinity's YAM at Holy Trinity Church for Mass, rosary, Gospel reflection, and fellowship from 7:00-9:00 pm (Mass at 7:00 pm; Meeting at 7:45 pm). Please contact Jon Nytes at jnytes@gmail.com for more information.
A Prayer Vigil for Life will take place every Saturday from 7:00 am until 5:00 pm along Rt. 234 (Sudley Rd.) on the sidewalk just to the right of where you turn into the Forestwood Professional Village. Please consider picking a slot for this next Saturday or a weekly slot.
